Tolkien Match rings up record results for telephone campaign

05 August 2015

The annual telephone campaign has raised a total of £380,000 towards the AP100 Campaign - making it the most successful telephone campaign ever run by a UK school.

Almost 500 Old Edwardians and former parents kindly supported the Campaign during two weeks of calling - this represents a giving rate of 77%. The money raised will generate at least an additional five Assisted Places.

The record-breaking response is largely down to the recently launched Tolkien Match. The Tolkien Trust have very kindly agreed to match gifts made before 1 December this year, up to a value of £500,000 - effectively doubling the value of donations received.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the AP100 Campaign so far, and especially the Tolkien Trust for the matched-funding. Together we're ensuring that any bright boy can attend King Edward's School regardless of his family's financial circumstances.
