Match completion marks another milestone

14 December 2015

The Tolkien Match has now ended – and we are delighted to reveal that together we exceeded the target of £500,000.

A grand total of £531,000 was given by 572 donors between 1 July and 1 December. Added to the matched funding from The Tolkien Trust, this means that over £1m has been raised towards the AP100 Campaign during the last six months. The response to the match has been overwhelming and we are very grateful to all those who have made gifts, as well as the Tolkien Trust for enabling us to double the impact of every donation.

The total amount raised towards the AP100 Campaign since 2010 now stands at £9.2m – money which is being used to ensure that future generations of pupils are able to enjoy the same education that Tolkien did, whatever their financial circumstances.

2016 is set to be filled with further milestones for the Trust – as we aim to complete the AP100 Campaign by raising £10m to fund 100 Assisted Places throughout the school by the summer. In the meantime follow our progress on Twitter and Facebook.
